01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Tallygram was a friend-discovery app built by OkCupid Labs, the experimental product arm of OkCupid. Launched in November 2012, it plugged into Facebook to help users discover which of their existing friends share common interests and activities, positioning itself as a way to find things to do with people you already know.
02 / tallygram FAILURE REASONS
Failure reasons
Tallygram never built a community large enough to keep the site alive. OkCupid Labs stated that the community never grew to a size that could sustain the site, so the company pulled the plug in April 2013, about five months after launch.
