01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Jobr was a San Francisco-based mobile job discovery app founded in 2014 by Hari Ananth and Alex De Simone, described as 'Tinder for jobs.' Users connected their LinkedIn account (later Facebook login or resume uploads) to create a profile, then swiped through job postings — right for interested, left for not — with recruiter tools to manage applicants and in-app chat. At acquisition, Jobr claimed 'millions' of job seekers and thousands of recruiters, over 100 million swipes, and was the #15 free Business app in the App Store. It raised $2 million in seed funding in 2014 and was acquired by Monster Worldwide on June 8, 2016 for undisclosed terms.
