01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Mission Control (missioncontrol.gg) was a St. Louis-based startup founded in 2018 that built a platform for recreational esports leagues — a mobile app where gamers could join leagues for friends, similar to a local adult softball league or college intramurals but for video games. Organizations such as community groups, colleges, LAN centers and parks departments could use it to host leagues, manage schedules, validate scores and run community forums. It partnered with GameStop, Minnesota Rokkr, Xfinity and Stack Sports, and raised a $1.75 million seed round in July 2020 led by Dundee Venture Capital.
