01 / WHAT IT BUILT

What the company did

TVCoins was a Boston-based white-label Free Ad-Supported TV (FAST) platform founded in 2021 by CEO Yossi Aloni and CTO Marek Kielczewski. Its cloud-based video delivery platform let content owners — media companies, publishers, anyone holding licensing rights — launch streaming apps on connected TV, iPhone, Android and Roku at no upfront cost, with all-inclusive ad management and immediate revenue generation. A first-of-its-kind viewer incentive and rewards program was designed to acquire and retain engaged viewers, supported by an ad-powered revenue-share model. The startup closed a $10 million seed round led by Roumell Asset Management and The Hoerner Planning Group, and assembled a board of video and ad-tech veterans including Magnite's Erik Hovanec and MediaMath's Neil Nguyen. PitchBook now records TVCoins as out of business.
