01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Glympse Bio was a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company founded in 2015 as a spinout of Dr. Sangeeta Bhatia's lab at MIT. It developed activity-based biosensors: injectable nanoparticles designed to interact with specific proteins linked to diseases, which are then collected and analyzed, enabling non-invasive, real-time monitoring of disease progression. Its primary target was nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and it signed a strategic collaboration with Gilead Sciences in October 2019. It also advanced oncology and infectious disease programs, and raised about $93 million in venture funding.
