01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Blackwell Security is a Michigan-based healthcare-focused cybersecurity company, a co-creation of General Catalyst and Rally Ventures. Its Managed Healthcare Extended Detection and Response (MHXDR) offering gives health systems and providers tailor-made cybersecurity: threat detection and response that understands where personal health information (PHI) lives, covering endpoints, medical devices and clinical applications - areas generic MDR providers typically miss. It works with design partners including General Catalyst's Health Assurance Network. In 2024 it raised $13 million in a round co-led by General Catalyst and Rally Ventures, and appointed Geyer Jones (formerly of Cylera and RSA) as its first CEO, with Jaclyn Miller as president and COO. No public source documents a shutdown or failure.
