01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Textile-Based Delivery, Inc. (TexDel) is a Conover, North Carolina smart-textile company founded in 2012 by Jordan Schindler. It invented HealthWear/Nufabrx: proprietary yarn that embeds active ingredients into fabric so body heat and moisture release them onto the skin in a controlled manner — products ranged from a tea-tree-oil bamboo pillowcase for acne to capsaicin-infused compression sleeves and socks. Developed with the Department of Defense-backed AFFOA institute, Nufabrx products were sold at Walmart by 2022; the company also made copper-treated TheraMask face coverings during COVID. In September 2023 it sold the Nufabrx brand to Tallayne Holdings and pivoted to licensing its platform as Clothing 2.0.
