01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Storyline was a no-code startup founded in 2017 that let anyone build Amazon Alexa skills with a drag-and-drop interface - 'WordPress for voice apps' - no coding required. Backed by Y Combinator and Boost VC, it raised $770,000 to develop its skill-builder app. The company later rebranded as Voiceflow, the conversational-AI design platform, which continues to operate. No failure event was found - this was a rebrand, not a shutdown.
