What the company did
Kynos Therapeutics was an Edinburgh clinical-stage biotech founded in 2020 as a University of Edinburgh spin-out by professors Damian Mole and Scott Webster, with founding investor Epidarex Capital alongside IP Group and Scottish Enterprise. It developed first-in-class KMO (kynurenine 3-monooxygenase) inhibitors for acute and chronic inflammatory diseases; its lead molecule KNS366 completed a Phase I trial. The company was acquired by Germany's Dr. Falk Pharma in October 2024, which folded KNS366 into its pipeline for acute pancreatitis.
