01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Iron Health was a tech-enabled women's health startup built at Redesign Health in 2022 and launched with a $4.5 million seed round including the March of Dimes Innovation Fund's first-ever investment. It served as a virtual extension of OB/GYN practices, connecting patients with a multidisciplinary team (advanced practice providers, nutritionists, clinical social workers) for primary care, behavioral health, weight management, gestational diabetes, menopause and pregnancy support. Partnerships across six states gave over a million women access to its services via 4,000 patient visits. On December 30, 2024 it was acquired by digital health company Metronomic, which integrated it with its Materno pregnancy management platform; founder Stephanie Winans handed over the CEO role to Metronomic's Dr. Sujith Krishnan.
