01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
OriCiro Genomics was a Tokyo biotech startup founded in 2018 to commercialize Professor Masayuki Suetsugu's (Rikkyo University) cell-free DNA amplification technology, incubated by the University of Tokyo's UTEC. While conventional DNA synthesis uses living cells like E. coli, OriCiro's platform enabled rapid, cell-free assembly and amplification of large DNA - including sequences impossible to amplify by existing methods - sold as reagent kits, co-development, and technology licensing for plasmid DNA manufacturing in synthetic biology and advanced therapies.
