01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Skupos was a data platform for the convenience retail industry, based in San Francisco and Denver and co-founded by CEO Jake Bolling. It connected independent convenience stores and consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands: its POS-integrated platform gave single-store operators access to CPG brand programs and discounts (notably tobacco scan-data reporting and refunds), while giving brands data and insights on how their products performed at independent sites. It launched Skupos Engage in May 2021 for brand-funded discounts at the point of sale, and was named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 in 2022.
