01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Highlight was a San Francisco developer-tools startup from Y Combinator's Winter 2023 batch, co-founded by CEO Jay Khatri and Vadim Korolik. It built an open-source, full-stack observability platform: front-end session replay, full-stack error monitoring and logging combined in one product so engineers could see both user-side and back-end issues together. It publicly launched in August 2023 with an $8 million seed round led by Afore Capital and Craft Ventures.
