01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Laskie was a San Francisco-based tech hiring platform founded in 2021 by CEO Chris Bakke (who had previously sold the startup Interviewed to Indeed in 2017). It described itself as 'the most powerful platform to hire tech talent' - a job-matching platform where jobs apply to talent via its 'ReverseApply' movement, matching engineers, designers and marketers with roles. It was free for job seekers and charged employers a percentage of the hired employee's first-year salary. It raised $6 million in a seed round led by Bloomberg Beta and Peak State Ventures.
