01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Humu was a US HR-tech startup co-founded by former Google SVP of People Operations Laszlo Bock together with Wayne Crosby and Jessie Wisdom. It built the Nudge Engine: machine learning plus behavioral science identifying what changes were needed where, and delivering tiny, science-based interventions (nudges) — nearly 2,000 nudges tied to about 96 behaviors — to managers and employees via Slack, Teams or email. Customers included Silicon Valley Bank, Farfetch, Ecolab and Sweetgreen.
