01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
WillCall was a San Francisco concert discovery, ticketing and commerce app led by CEO Donnie Dinch. On iOS and Android, users could discover shows nearby, buy tickets, and use their phone as a mobile wallet at venues - paying for merch, drinks and VIP packages. It operated in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles and raised about $2.1 million. It was not a failure: Ticketfly acquired it in August 2014 (terms undisclosed) to extend its ticketing into in-venue commerce and data collection, with Dinch joining as GM of Consumer Experience.
