01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
BreachQuest was a Dallas, Texas-based cybersecurity company (founded 2021, formerly known as Arceo Labs) that built a modern incident response platform called Priori. Its founding team drew on former U.S. Cyber Command, NSA and Department of Defense talent, including CEO Shaun Gordon and CTO Jake Williams, a former NSA hacker who founded Rendition Infosec, which BreachQuest acquired. The platform integrated into cloud office systems to speed incident forensics, containment and recovery for businesses in finance, healthcare, manufacturing, education and other sectors. The company emerged from stealth in August 2021 with $4.4 million in seed funding from Slow Ventures, Lookout founder Kevin Mahaffey and Tinder co-founders Sean Rad and Justin Mateen, and was acquired by cyber insurance startup Resilience in February 2024.
