01 / WHAT IT BUILT

What the company did

Nextop IO was a mobile content delivery network (CDN) founded by Brien Colwell. It optimized the path between mobile applications and their back ends through a client-side networking library for iOS and Android, a network of proxies running a custom protocol to improve delivery times, throughput, and data/battery usage, plus metrics to monitor and debug connection quality. Launched in 2014, it is now listed as closed.
