01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Pluribus Networks was a Palo Alto software-defined networking (SDN) pioneer founded in 2010. Its Netvisor ONE — a virtualized, Linux-based network operating system — and later Adaptive Cloud Fabric provided controller-less, software-defined VXLAN overlay networking across data centers, service providers and hyperconverged environments, gathering telemetry from Broadcom Trident-based Ethernet switches. It raised about $137 million, employed ~140 people, and partnered with Ericsson on telco-grade fabric for NFVI deployments.
