01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Dunwello was a Boston startup founded by Matt Lauzon that let people submit and read reviews of individual professionals — hair stylists, trainers, real-estate agents, lawyers — rating them on a 1-to-10 scale. The pitch was continuous, public feedback: helping consumers find the right professional while letting professionals market themselves and carry their reviews between jobs. The company raised $1.8 million in total, including a $1.4 million seed round backed by NextView Ventures, Vegas Tech Fund, G20 Ventures, BOLDstart Ventures, and Bridge Boys, plus a $250,000 investment from CommonAngels.
