01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
HomePace was a Park City, Utah financial-services company founded in 2020. It offered home-equity investments — an alternative to home-equity loans: it gave homeowners or homebuyers a lump sum of cash upfront (up to $250,000) in exchange for a share of the future change in their home's value, with no monthly payments or interest. HomePace became a secondary lien holder on the property, shared in gains or losses at sale, and also matched homebuyers' down payments. It raised a $7 million Series A in April 2022 led by LENx, Lennar's corporate venture arm.
