What the company did
Deliveroo is a UK-based on-demand food delivery platform founded in 2013 by Will Shu. It operates a marketplace connecting consumers, restaurants and grocery partners with delivery riders across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, with around 7 million monthly active users. The company floated on the London Stock Exchange in March 2021 at a valuation of about £7.6 billion, but its shares collapsed around 30% on debut, earning it the 'Floperoo' tag. After years of cost cuts and market exits, it posted its first full-year profit in 2024.
