01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Flok, formerly Loyalblocks, was a New York-based customer loyalty and engagement platform for local businesses. It offered loyalty programs, branded mobile apps, CRM tools and later chatbot and AI marketing services that let small merchants run rewards and promotions. The company was founded in 2011 by Ido Gaver and Eran Kirshenboim and was acquired by Wix in January 2017.

Failure reasons
After Wix acquired Flok in January 2017, the standalone Flok product lost independent momentum inside its new parent. In 2019 the company told customers the service would shut down in March 2020, a typical post-acquisition product sunset once the acquirer had absorbed the team and technology it wanted.
