01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Bespoke Financial is the US's first licensed fintech lender focused on the cannabis industry, founded in 2018 and led by CEO George Mancheril. Because federal illegality keeps traditional banks and fintechs away from cannabis, Bespoke offers debt financing - lines of credit (its most popular product, up to $15 million), invoice financing and inventory financing - via a technology platform and data-driven application process, serving licensed operators across the whole supply chain (cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, dispensaries) in 12 regulated markets from California to Maine. It is backed by Casa Verde Capital, Sweat Equity Ventures, Greenhouse Capital Partners and others, and in December 2021 closed a $125 million credit facility with institutional investors to expand its lending capacity. No public source documents a shutdown or failure.
