01 / WHAT IT BUILT

What the company did

seatXchange was a first-of-its-kind peer-to-peer mobile platform for real-time in-venue seat exchange, founded in the spring of 2017 by attorney Amir Amini and Robert Gleason, an entertainment and music veteran formerly of SBE Entertainment Group. Launching officially on September 2, 2017 in Los Angeles, the app let fans share their event experience and exchange seats with one another in real time — before or even during an event. Its differentiators: zero transaction fee, trust through ratings, reviews and mutual connections, real-time information with a money-back guarantee, and social features showing where friends were sitting so fans could buy tickets in the same section. It supported sports, music and other LA events, with plans for national expansion.
