01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
BlockStamp was a multipurpose Bitcoin blockchain fork developed by the BlockStamp Foundation, a not-for-profit organization. With one-minute block times, 1 MB transaction limits and the BST coin, it aimed to be a decentralized digital timestamp notary for transparently sealing data, while also hosting a gambling platform advertised as radically fair with zero-percent edges and minimal fees, plus censorship-resistant web publishing and a peer-to-peer domain naming system. Development eventually ceased and the project was marked as Deadpooled, with BST trading volume and market capitalization falling to zero.
