01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
TINYpulse was a Seattle employee-engagement software company founded in 2012 by David Niu. Its platform asked employees one anonymous question a week — how happy they were at work, how onboarding was going — and turned the answers into dashboards for executives, plus peer-to-peer recognition (Cheers for Peers) and an anonymous suggestion box. More than 1,000 companies, including Facebook, IBM and Airbnb, used the service. In 2021 it was acquired by Limeade, which in turn was bought by WebMD Health Services in 2023; TINYpulse now lives on as part of WebMD.
