01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Effectiv was a US real-time risk decisioning company founded in early 2021 by fintech veterans Ravi Sandepudi, Ritesh Arora, Jonathan Doering, and Anupam Tarsauliya, who had previously built risk platforms at PayPal, Google, Walmart, and Simility (acquired by PayPal for $120 million in 2018). Its open, developer-friendly AI orchestration platform integrated any risk solution — identity and payment fraud controls, credit underwriting, Know Your Business (KYB), and anti-money laundering (AML) — to drive real-time decisions against identity theft, account takeover, scams, and real-time payment fraud. Its customers included Ouro/Netspend, Lightspeed Commerce, Cardless, and Payco.
