What the company did
Milky Way AI is a Singaporean startup building InstaShelf, an AI-powered merchandising platform for remote shelf management. It combines computer vision and AI algorithms to analyze shelf photographs in real time, giving retailers insights into product performance and corrective actions such as replenishment - flagging out-of-stocks, misplaced products and pricing errors across sales channels, which reduces the time and cost of manual shelf audits. In 2020 it won the inaugural Microsoft Emerge X regional pitch competition for APAC under Microsoft's Highway to a 100 Unicorns initiative.
