01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Cortina was a New York-based marketplace SaaS platform co-founded by CEO Keith George that gave any retailer - from big box to mom-and-pop - the power to become a marketplace. Built by retailers for retailers, the plug-and-play platform let brands sell other vendors' products directly on their own site while keeping their own brand experience, offering complementary products without taking on inventory risk. It supported direct connections to a limitless number of partners, agnostic to ecommerce and back-end technologies, importing real-time inventory, pricing, product descriptions, and images, and transmitting orders back through connection points to brands. On January 11, 2024, Logicbroker (a K1 Investment Management portfolio company and multi-vendor commerce SaaS provider) announced the acquisition of Cortina - an emerging leader of marketplace and dropship solutions - to expand its comprehensive marketplace and dropship offering.
