What the company did
Foodoro was an online marketplace for specialty artisanal foods, a Y Combinator Winter 2009 startup based in San Francisco. Foodies could ship hard-to-find items, from sesame nut spice chocolate to Philippine-grown rice, from 54 vendors across the country; Foodoro took a 15 percent commission, gave vendors an embeddable e-commerce widget, and ran an affiliate program for food bloggers.
