01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
DeepSurface Security was a Portland, Oregon-based cybersecurity company founded in 2017 by CEO James Dirksen. It built the first risk-based vulnerability management platform, whose DeepSurface RiskAnalyzer automatically collected more than 50 attributes of a customer's environment to contextualize vulnerabilities - and chains of vulnerabilities - predicting where an adversary could cause the most damage. Trusted by enterprise companies, it helped security teams provably prioritize and measure vulnerability risk. In February 2025, AttackIQ acquired DeepSurface.
