01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Transverse Insurance Group was a New Jersey-based property & casualty program carrier — a hybrid 'fronting' insurer — launched in 2018 by Virgo Investment Group. Partnering with reinsurers and program administrators (MGAs), it provided admitted and non-admitted P&C products across commercial and personal lines, working across treaty and facultative reinsurance as well as traditional and structured placements. The company raised about $48 million and built its edge on retaining risk alongside partners through every stage of the program cycle. On August 10, 2022, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (MS&AD) completed its acquisition of Transverse from Virgo; the business was renamed MS Transverse.
