What the company did
NuChem Sciences Inc. was one of North America's largest discovery contract research organizations (CROs). Founded in 2011 in Montreal by ex-Merck Frosst colleagues, it provided integrated and standalone drug discovery services — medicinal, synthetic, scale-up, process and computational chemistry, plus DMPK, in vitro biology and in vivo pharmacology — to global biotech and pharmaceutical companies. With more than 300 staff across centers of excellence in Montreal and Quebec City (including the 2021 acquisition of OmegaChem), it was acquired by UK-based Sygnature Discovery Ltd. on August 2, 2023 for an undisclosed sum, continuing to operate and drive market expansion in North America.
