01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Senda Biosciences was a Flagship Pioneering biotech company launched in October 2020 with $88 million in cash, led by CEO Guillaume Pfefer (also a CEO-Partner at Flagship). It built the first platform to leverage a universal chemical code of natural nanoparticles — proprietary particles derived from microorganisms that had co-evolved with human cells — enabling directed, repeatable deployment of payloads such as translatable RNA directly to chosen cells and tissues. The company raised about $309 million in total.
