01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
BioPhy was a Philadelphia enterprise AI company co-founded by Dave Latshaw II (PhD, MBA), a former Johnson & Johnson AI leader, with Steven Truong and neurosurgeon Daniel Sciubba. It built an AI operating system for drug development: combining scientific, clinical and regulatory insights with a proprietary operational assessment model, the platform assessed biological feasibility and predicted clinical-trial outcomes - in live testing it predicted over 1,500 trial outcomes with 80% accuracy over 27 months. Later it focused on regulatory intelligence and quality-system modernisation: a regulatory research engine and a QMS gap-analysis solution helping regulatory, quality and operations teams at life-sciences companies. It raised about $4.5 million in 2023 from Metrodora Ventures (Chelsea Clinton and Caroline Kassie), Audere Capital and TRCM. On February 2, 2026 it was acquired by Intrinsic Clinical Systems, a clinical development services and technology platform; financial terms were not disclosed.
