01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Klarismo was a Y Combinator Summer 2015 startup that created 3D models of the inside of the human body. It took MRI scans and other body scans people were already getting and built a full 3D model available online, letting users track changes over time - muscle growth, fat reduction and volumetric measurements of muscle tissue and fat deposits. It was founded by CEO Marcus Foster, a former Google product manager of 8 years, whose idea came from his own cycling accidents and a head tumor that led him through multiple CT and MRI scans. The company raised $2.1 million.
