01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
PandoDaily (later Pando) was a technology news site founded in 2012 by former TechCrunch editor Sarah Lacy, aiming to be the 'site-of-record for that startup root-system'. It combined a daily tech blog with a monthly event series, PandoMonthly, and later merged with Paul Carr's NSFW magazine to double down on investigative reporting. It raised about $2.5 million from investors including Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Tony Hsieh, David Sze, Jim Breyer, Reid Hoffman, Chris Dixon and Josh Kopelman.
