01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Soptle was India's first SaaS-led B2B marketplace for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturers and retailers. It digitized manufacturer workflows — procurement, production, demand generation, distribution, cash collection and reconciliation — and cut out intermediaries such as C&F agents and superstockists so regional FMCG brands could sell directly to kirana retailers. It was founded in 2021 by Pravas Chandragiri, who skipped college after high school in Balasore, Odisha, to help small-town retailers; it was backed by Kube VC, We Founder Circle, Iceland Venture Studio, Nyra Ventures and founders of Dunzo, Jar and Bijak, and raised about $1.4 million cumulatively.
