01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Aurora Insight was a US company launched in 2016 (co-founder and CEO Jennifer Alvarez) providing accurate, impartial, data-driven insights on the radio frequency (RF) spectrum based on real-world measurements. Through a combination of ground, aircraft and satellite-based sensors, it mapped RF spectrum and wireless networks across the world — spanning LTE, 5G, satellite communications, radars and GPS — initially tracking wireless network buildouts, and later expanding into network planning, infrastructure tracking and spectrum intelligence for government and commercial missions. It raised around $19 million in funding.
