What the company did
Route Konnect was a Cardiff-based smart-city analytics startup founded in 2018 by Mohamed Binesmael, Daniel Harborne and Matteo De Rosa. Its 'Road Konnect' software used AI video analytics on footage from standard traffic cameras to detect, count and categorize vehicles across multiple camera sites without facial recognition, giving town planners, traffic surveyors and local authorities real-time insight into traffic flows and urban movement.
