The business, the turning points, and the decisions behind them.
01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Arrinera Automotive S.A. was a Polish supercar manufacturer founded in 2008, touting the first supercar designed and engineered in Poland. Its project, the Arrinera Hussarya — named after Poland's 16th-century Hussar cavalry — included a road prototype (mid-engine V8, scissor doors, unveiled in 2011) and the Hussarya GT, a 500 bhp FIA GT3-compliant race car with a GM LS7 V8 that became the first Polish car to take part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed. A 33-unit production run, the Hussarya 33 with a supercharged 800 PS V8, was planned but never materialized.
02 / Arrinera FAILURE REASONS
Failure reasons
Funding problems. In its 2021 quarterly report (dated 11.08.21), Arrinera announced that due to funding problems the Hussarya project would not be further developed; the company went defunct without ever entering serial production. Its racing efforts also struggled — alternator failure at Hockenheim and an engine blowout at Donington in 2017 ended its motorsport program.
