01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Nethone was a Warsaw-based fraud prevention and risk intelligence company founded in 2016 by CEO Hubert Rachwalski von Rejchwald. Its Know Your Users technology used machine learning and behavioral data to profile users in real time, detecting account takeovers, payment fraud, bots and organized attacks for global platforms and marketplaces including Vinted, ING, Wallapop and BlaBlaCar. Backed by venture investors, it raised over $7 million, then in late 2022 payment infrastructure provider Mangopay (backed by Advent International) acquired it to build the first anti-fraud solution designed specifically for platform businesses. Nethone continued to operate as a Mangopay company afterward.
