01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Balbix was a cybersecurity company founded in 2015 by Gaurav Banga. Its AI-native exposure management platform gave enterprises continuous visibility into their attack surface - cloud, on-premises and third-party assets - by discovering assets, detecting vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, and prioritizing them by business risk rather than generic severity scores. Named a Visionary in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Exposure Assessment Platforms, the company raised over $100 million in funding. In November 2025 it was acquired by SAFE (Safe Security) for an undisclosed sum to build a unified AI-native cyber risk and exposure management platform.
