What the company did

SEA Electric was a Melbourne-based electric-vehicle drivetrain specialist founded and led by Tony Fairweather, describing itself as a leading automotive and e-mobility technology company providing 100% electric drivetrain systems. It developed the SEA-Drive powertrains for commercial vans and light and medium trucks — including the SEA EV14, SEA EV10 and E4V — and worked with OEMs such as Ford and Detroit Chassis, deploying products across the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Indonesia, India and South Africa with more than three million miles of real-world service. It raised a US$42 million (A$55 million) equity round as it expanded its US footprint.
