01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Point was a San Francisco challenger bank co-founded and led by CEO Patrick Mrozowski. It offered a consumer banking app with a premium debit card - the self-styled 'anti-credit card' - giving credit-card-like rewards on debit spending: up to 5x points on subscriptions such as Netflix and Spotify, plus multipliers on food delivery and ride-sharing, redeemable for cash. The membership-based product ($49-$60 per year) ran on FDIC-insured banking infrastructure from partner Radius Bank.
