01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
MarketBrief was a Y Combinator startup founded in 2011 in Mountain View by Jason Zucchetto. It programmatically organized SEC filings the instant they went public, turning them into plain-English news summaries within about a second - parsing around 100,000 pages of filings a day into roughly 1,000 articles. Its customers included large legal, financial and media organizations such as Dow Jones, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. No verifiable failure, shutdown or acquisition event was found.
