What the company did
Just Biotherapeutics (Just.Bio) was a Seattle-based biotechnology company that integrated machine learning, scientific expertise and manufacturing to design, develop and produce protein drugs at lower cost. Founded in 2014 by former Amgen scientists led by Jim Thomas, the company employed about 90 scientists and was backed by investors including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Evotec acquired it in 2019, and in December 2025 Evotec closed the sale of its Just - Evotec Biologics Toulouse site plus a technology license to Sandoz.
